About TideStrike

TideStrike started as a simple question: why does every fishing app either cost money or bury the tide chart under ads? South Florida anglers deal with fast-changing conditions — tides that swing hard around the new and full moon, sudden fronts that shut down the bite, bait runs that move overnight. We wanted one place that pulls together real NOAA tide stations, live weather, actual lunar mechanics, and reports from other anglers, without a subscription wall.

Every tide reading comes straight from NOAA CO-OPS. Weather comes from Open-Meteo. Moon phases and solunar windows are computed with real astronomical positioning, not a lookup table. Species activity is checked against actual occurrence records from GBIF and OBIS so the app does not claim a species is running if there is no record of it anywhere nearby. None of this is guesswork, and none of it is AI-generated — it is deterministic math against live data sources.

TideStrike is built and maintained by one person, in spare time, because I fish these waters myself and got tired of switching between five different apps and websites to plan a trip. If it saves you a few casts in the wrong spot at the wrong tide, it is doing its job.
